Description
Heavy duty 4:1 tuner balun utilizing stacked cores to provide a very high power rating across all HF frequencies. Constructed using our enhanced design with Teflon tubing over heavy build Thermaleze insulated wire.
If you are building a true windom (sometimes called a Carolina Windom) with a vertical coaxial radiator (not an OCF dipole) or need to replace the 4:1 balun at the center of an original windom, this balun is an excellent choice and will pass the RF signal to the vertical radiating coax. This model should NOT be used for the modern version Off Center Fed dipole that has no vertical coaxial radiator. Instead, use the model 4116et or Model 4115ocf for best current balance and excellent RF choking impedance.
Specifications
Core Material | Custom mix low permeability ferrite by Fair Rite Products for maximum bandwidth. Large 2.4 inch cores are coated and sealed for long term durability. |
Winding Type | Stacked cores with single bifilar pair wound as 4:1 voltage balun. |
Winding Material | 1 bifilar winding of 14 gauge Heavy build polyamideimide Allex 240 Winding Wire. Windings are inserted into Teflon tubes increasing total breakdown to 10,000 volts. |
